    In this regard, a press release issued on behalf of the District Collectorate: The renewed Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme is being implemented to provide financial support to farmers against unexpected losses and to stabilize farm income. Farmers of Villupuram district who have cultivated sesame in Rabi season and paddy in Navari season can get crop insurance by paying Rs.464 per acre for paddy crop and Rs.151 for sesame crop as premium amount in the renewed Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme for their cultivated paddy and sesame crops. 31st is the last day for this. Therefore, farmers can pay insurance premiums through Public Service Centres, Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies and State Owned Banks. It has been informed that the borrower farmers can get crop insurance through banks and primary agricultural cooperative credit societies with their consent.
